Gy-les-Nonains is a French municipality with 628 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montargis and to the municipality association Cléry, Betz et l'Ouanne . The residents call themselves Gyssois .
geography
Gy-les-Nonains is located in the Gâtinais orléanais landscape , about 100 kilometers south of Paris . The river Ouanne marks the northern boundary , the Loing the western boundary. The landscape of the community of 20.13 km² has little relief, characterized by large arable land, alluvial forests on the rivers and a few small forest areas. The only forest area worth mentioning is La Garenne forest in the west of the municipality. The highest point in the municipality is reached here at 139 m above sea level. In addition to the eponymous village, the community includes the districts of La Grange Chartier, Maugelus and Les Comtes as well as numerous small hamlets and individual farms. Gy-les-Nonains is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the north, Château-Renard in the east, La Chapelle-sur-Aveyron in the south and Montcresson and Conflans-sur-Loing in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure
Eleven farms are located in the municipality of Gy-les-Nonains (cultivation of grain, pulses and oilseeds, dairy farming).
Immediately north of Gy-les-Nonains, the D 943 road runs from Montargis to Joigny . There are connections to the A 19 and A 77 autoroute near the town of Montargis, which is ten kilometers away . The nearest train station is also in Montargis.
