La Selle-sur-le-Bied is a French commune with 1,012 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montargis and is part of the canton of Courtenay . The inhabitants are called Sellois .

It was created with effect from March 1, 2019 as the Commune nouvelle of the same name through the amalgamation of the previous communes of La Selle-sur-le-Bied and Saint-Loup-de-Gonois , of which only Saint-Loup-de-Gonois in the new commune has the status of a Commune déléguée . The administrative headquarters are located in La Selle-sur-le-Bied.

The community is located around 15 kilometers northeast of Montargis in the Gâtinais natural landscape . The Cléry River crosses the municipality from east to west. The A19 motorway runs further south . Neighboring municipalities of La Selle-sur-le-Bied are Pers-en-Gâtinais in the north, Mérinville in the northeast, Courtemaux in the southeast, Louzouer in the south and Griselles in the west.
