Hirsauer Pflegehof in Ditzingen

The Hirsauer Pflegehof is a former farm yard of the Hirsau monastery in Ditzingen . The building on Stegstrasse is designated as a cultural monument in accordance with Section 2 DSchG BW .

history

The Hirsau Monastery had extensive property in Ditzingen and the surrounding area, including church rule over the Konstanz Church , which was incorporated in 1399 by Pope Bonifatius IX. has been confirmed. In 1444 the monastery acquired the fortified complex of the former Ditzinger local rule on the Glems and had a tithe barn built there. The Hirsau care also served as a branch of the monastery administration in Ditzingen, their area of responsibility in 1534 included not only the property in Ditzingen but also those in Gebersheim , Hirschlanden , Hedelfingen , Botnang and Gerlingen .

The current building, a solid construction with corner blocks and a plastered half-timbered gable , essentially dates from 1739, but is essentially much older. An old arched cellar entrance on the east side is remarkable. Immediately in front of the barn ran the Glems, which was dammed here with a weir to supply the castle mill . After the abolition of the tithe in kind (1808), the tithe barn was converted into a farmhouse with a large barn. Since 2009 the building has been used as a purely residential building.
