The Hirschlensee , popularly known as the " Baggersee ", is a small lake at 410  m above sea level. M. in the north-west of the Swiss municipality of Reichenburg . It was created in 1972 when groundwater came to the fore when gravel was exploited for the construction of Autobahn 3 , then called "Nationalstrasse 3". Next to the still water , where neither an inflow nor an outflow is visible, there is a biotope resp. a nature reserve. Today the Hirschlensee is known in the vicinity as a bathing lake, although the lake is subject to a bathing ban, which, however, is not punished.
