Shepherd's house in Ailsbach

The Hirtenhaus Ailsbach is a listed building in Ailsbach , a district of Lonnerstadt and serves as the village community center and seat of the Ailsbach Association

building

The small building that defines the townscape was built around 1800 as a stable house and used by the community shepherd. After the Second World War , displaced persons were housed in the house. It served as a residential building until around 1980 and then stood empty. Due to the poor building fabric, the community, as the owner, wanted to tear down the shepherd's house and sell the property. Instead, the shepherd's house association was founded in 1985. He wanted to keep the house and use it as a community center for the village, as there had not been an inn in the district since 1977.

The property has been renovated since 1986 under the construction management of the local architects Franz and Maria Schubert. The grand opening of the house took place on September 24, 1989. Thanks to the help of the local residents, the cost of the renovation was 113,000 DM. In November 1990, the market town of Lonnerstadt was recognized by the Middle Franconia district for the excellent renovation of the shepherd's house in line with historic monuments.

Ailsbach village community

The village community Ailsbach (short: DG Ailsbach) is a voluntary association in Ailsbach in Franconia.

After the Ailsbach innkeeper Hans Weber died in 1985, there was no meeting place for the citizens of Ailsbach. That is why the village community of Hirtenhaus Ailsbach was founded the following year and entered in the register of associations of the Fürth district court on June 20, 1986.

According to the statutes “... the association is selflessly active. It serves to maintain and promote the village community between old and new citizens. He promotes the beautification of the place and is responsible for the preservation of the shepherd's house and the shepherd's height as a village meeting point informing the cultural homeland and carries out all measures that seem suitable to achieve the purpose of the association ”. The approximately 135 members elect the board of directors of the village community every two years.

The board of directors is responsible for raising funds. A large part of the money is earned annually at various festivities through the sale of food and drinks. Care is taken to source the food from local producers. Various projects were carried out to beautify Ailsbach and to preserve the village community.

From 5th to 7th August 2011 the association celebrated its 25th anniversary.
