Hisao Kurosawa

Hisao Kurosawa ( Japanese黒 澤 久 雄, Kurosawa Hisao , born December 20, 1945 in Japan ) is a Japanese film producer and the son of the legendary director Akira Kurosawa .

As president of Kurosawa Productions , he produced his father's late works (including Ran (1985)) and has been managing the intellectual estate of the great filmmaker since his death in 1998. Among other things, he has successfully loaned the rights to a number of works such as The Seven Samurai to computer game companies, which - under the strict eyes of Kurosawa - create a whole series of games from these extremely popular films in Japan.

In 2006 Kurosawa wanted to finish his directorial debut with the samurai film Oni . As with Ame Agaru , the script comes from the estate of his father Akira Kurosawa . The story is about a blond samurai who has to discover his destiny in the turmoil of the Warring States' era .

In April 2006 he also founded the Akira Kurosawa Film School in Tokyo, which offers a two-year course in acting, directing and film production.
