description

The brew kettle

In the late classical building of the distillery, alcohol was distilled from wheat grain until 2002. It is a massive two-story gabled house breaking and bricks with an octagonal brick on a square stone base broken chimney . The gable roof is covered with slate .

Wilhelm Haase, Rönsahl

Alcohol had been produced in the village since 1854 by the farmer Wilhelm Haase, who finally built the distillery in 1870/71 and whose family ran it until the 1950s. It then came into the possession of the spirits manufacturer Krugmann from neighboring Meinerzhagen , who owned the factory and the associated agriculture from Hanna Schröter, née. Haase, bought. The Krugmann company renewed various parts of the plant, but produced alcohol using the old methods until the end. In 1986 the distillery was listed as a historical monument .

After setting the fire operation 2002, the system went into the private property of the long-standing Rönsahler Ortsvorstehers and Ortsbürgermeisters about Horst Becker, which they rented for a symbolic amount to the club he co-founded in 2008 Historic Distillery Rönsahl eV.

With financial help from the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation in the amount of 142,000 euros, the association renovated or renewed the roofs with gutters, downpipes and cornice boxes and the 25 m high octagonal external chimney. With donations from the association, the latter largely repaired the building himself. The production of spirits is indeed prohibited fiscally, but with the help of a product originating in Dortmund brewing boiler is in the building, the locally displaced Landbier Rönsahler brewed, which can also be tasted on site.

An event room was set up on the upper floor, which can be rented to private individuals or used for cultural events to bear the costs of the facility. Various exhibits related to Rönsahler are on display in the basement, including a movable model of water-powered tampering and grinding works from one of the numerous powder mills in the area that were managed by the site.

The brewery has a brewing plant that was built in 1917 and made available to the association as a loan from the city of Dortmund. This brewhouse was put into operation by the brewery in 2011 in a new design. The fermentation cellar and cold store were housed in the distillery's former fuel cellar. In 2011 the production of beer started.

Both bottom and top-fermented beer can be produced in the brewery. The top-fermented light and dark "Rönsahler Landbier" is produced. The brewery is operated as an independent Rönsahler Brauerei GmbH .

Rönsahler Landbier is sold in beer siphons with 2 l, as belly barrel (Pittermännchen) with 10 l and belly barrel with 30 or 50 l.
