The Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe GmbH is a subsidiary of Japan's Mitsubishi-Hitachi Power Systems Group ( MHPS Group ) based in Duisburg .

The company was formed as part of the merger of the thermal power plant divisions of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (65% share in the new company) and Hitachi (35%) to form Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. , which is the sole parent company of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe GmbH .

Until January 31, 2014, the part of the Hitachi Group operated under the name Hitachi Power Europe GmbH .

Business areas and products

The company plans and builds turnkey power plants fueled by fossil fuels . The delivery program also includes core components such as grinding plants, environmental technology, large steam generators and turbines.

Within the globally active Hitachi group, Hitachi Power Europe is responsible for the markets in Europe, the former CIS states, Africa and the Middle East. Hitachi Power Europe also oversees the global investments of the European electricity producers.
