history
Meeraner Dampfkesselbau GmbH has its origins in the company FL Oschatz , a plumbing and hardware store founded in 1853 , which was entered in the commercial register on May 17, 1862 . The company developed into one of the most important factories for steam boiler construction in Germany.
After the expropriation and transfer to a state- owned company in 1948, the company took part in numerous national and international power plant construction projects (e.g. large power plant projects in Hagenwerder, Boxberg and Lippendorf, waste heat boilers for China, dust and bagasse boilers for Egypt).
On June 29, 1990, the newly formed Meeraner Dampfkesselbau GmbH was taken over by Lentjes AG. From 1993 to 2002, Meeraner Dampfkesselbau GmbH was an independent company in the Babcock-Borsig Group. Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe GmbH has held a 65% stake in Meeraner Dampfkesselbau GmbH since July 2007 .
