Hans-Jörg Hager

Hans-Jörg Hager (born October 31, 1948 in Crailsheim ), former CEO of the logistics company Schenker Germany, has been working in an advisory capacity at the logistics service provider Kuehne + Nagel since October 1, 2008 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1967, Hans-Jörg Hager began his freight forwarding career at Union Transport in Nuremberg . According to his official résumé, this professional activity should have continued uninterrupted until 1982.

In the 1970s he was one of the leading cadres of the Communist Federation of West Germany (KBW).

Political career

As a student, Hans-Jörg Hager was a member of the five-person Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Maoist Communist Federation of West Germany (KBW) from April 1974 . For the central organ communist people's newspaper (KVZ) and the theoretical organ communism and class struggle , he wrote numerous trend-setting articles. In the 1976 federal election he ran for first place on the state list of the KBW in North Rhine-Westphalia . When Willfried Maier was replaced as the responsible editor of the KVZ in September 1976 because of “deviating from the law”, Hager took over his post as “representative of the hard line ” until the end of July 1978. After that, his track at KBW is lost.

The distribution of revolutionary literature of the KBW had the company name Buchvertrieb Hager GmbH (or Buchvertrieb Mannheim ).

Professional career

In 1982, Hans-Jörg Hager moved to another transport company as a forwarding manager, where he became branch manager in 1985. He completed an in-service advancement training program that began in 1986 at the Württemberg Administration and Business Academy in Stuttgart in 1988 as a transport specialist. After Hager had been a member of the management of another freight forwarding company in Stuttgart from 1987 to 1991, he joined Schenker Eurocargo (Deutschland) AG in January 1992 as managing director and managed the office until 1998. He became a member of the board of Schenker Eurocargo in early 1996 appointed, and on January 1, 2000 he became chairman of the board.

On February 25, 2008 it was announced that Hager would be leaving Schenker in 2008. The step was justified with reaching the age of 60 and the associated dedication to new tasks.

At the beginning of October 2008, Kuehne + Nagel announced that Hager would switch to the logistics service provider in an advisory capacity. In addition, his appointment to the Board of Directors of Kuehne + Nagel International AG was planned.

At the beginning of December 2013, Hans-Jörg Hager was appointed to the supervisory board of Raben Group NV, Mönchengladbach.

In addition, Hager has been a lecturer at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster since the 2008/09 winter semester . In this function, he speaks out against re-nationalization tendencies in the logistics industry. In addition, he works as a lecturer for the University of Stuttgart and is a member of the Advisory Board of the part-time MASTER: ONLINE Logistics Management course.
