Transport specialist
Certified transport specialist is a publicly recognized qualification at master's level , which was awarded after successfully completing industry- related commercial advancement training in accordance with the Vocational Training Act. The nationwide examination was carried out on the basis of a special statutory ordinance before the examination committee of a Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
As part of a reorganization of commercial training in the field of logistics, the Ministry of Education issued new training regulations for the qualification of certified specialist in freight transport and logistics . This replaces further training to become a certified transport specialist. The new ordinance came into force on October 1, 2013. A separate regulation has been drawn up for the area of passenger transport. Also on October 1, 2013, the advanced training regulations for the qualification as a certified specialist in passenger transport and mobility came into force.
Areas of work and tasks
Certified transport specialists are qualified to work independently in the commercial management of companies in the transport industry in freight transport, passenger transport or in the transport infrastructure. You design and implement transport services using existing modes of transport within the framework of the applicable legal, economic and political conditions. They use the company's business and human resources management instruments for the implementation of transport services, they lead employees and project teams and communicate and cooperate with partner companies and customers in a service-oriented manner.
Training content
The legal basis of the advanced training was the ordinance on the examination for the recognized qualification Geprüfter Verkehrsfachwirtin (VerkPrV) . This was replaced in 2013 by the new ordinance on the examination for the recognized advanced training qualification as a certified specialist in freight transport and logistics and certified specialist in freight transport and logistics .

Exam admission requirements
Anyone who could be admitted to the examination before a Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- a successfully passed final examination as a forwarding agent , travel agent , agent for traffic services , service agent in air traffic , agent in rail and road traffic , air traffic agent or shipping agent or another commercial apprenticeship in traffic and then at least one year of professional experience or
- a successfully passed final examination in another recognized commercial apprenticeship and at least two years of professional experience or
- at least five years of professional experience
proved.
Examination and completion
The examination comprised a basic and a specific elective part. After successfully completing all parts of the examination, the examining Chamber of Industry and Commerce awarded the publicly recognized qualification as Certified Transport Specialist .
