Hitoshi Abe
Hitoshi Abe ( Japanese 阿 部 仁 史 , Abe Hitoshi ; * 1962 in Sendai ) is a Japanese architect .
Life
Hitoshi Abe studied at the Southern California Institute of Architecture and obtained a Master of Architecture there in 1989. During his studies he worked in the office of Coop Himmelb (l) au from 1988 to 1992 . In 1992 he founded the Hitoshi Abe studio. In 1993 he received his doctorate from Tōhoku University . He headed the Hitoshi Abe workshop for architectural design at the Institute of Technology at Tōhoku University from 1994 and taught at the university until 1998. In 1998 he became an associate professor at the institute and in 2002 a full professor. Since 2007 he has worked in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism at the School of Arts and Architecture at UCLA .
