Marsha Norman
Marsha Norman (born September 21, 1947 in Louisville , Kentucky ) is an American writer and screenwriter.
life and work
Marsha Norman's best-known work is Night, Mother , for which she received the 1983 Pulitzer Prize . In addition to dramas and screenplays, she also wrote song texts for musicals such as The Read Shoes , The Color Purple and The Secret Garden . For the latter, she wrote the script and lyrics based on the novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett and was awarded a Tony Award for her screenplay .
