Hittenkirchen

Hittenkirchen is a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Bernau am Chiemsee in the Rosenheim district . An independent municipality until April 30, 1978, Hittenkirchen was added to the municipality of Bernau as part of the Bavarian regional reform on May 1, 1978 in the existing district .

history

The village is mentioned for the first time around 1180 in the Codex Falkensteinensis as " Hittenchirchen ". It is believed that the name goes back to a Hitto who owned there. According to the Codex, the place was a fiefdom of the Counts of Falkenstein at the end of the 12th century , later Hittenkirchen belonged to the jurisdiction of Hirnsberg- Wildenwart .
