Hjärtholmen

Hjärtholmen is an island in the Kattegat belonging to Sweden .

It is located in the Gothenburg archipelago west of Gothenburg in the province of Västra Götalands län north of the entrance to Gothenburg harbor and belongs to the municipality of Gothenburg . To the east lies Risholmen . The Gryteskären archipelago is located on the southern tip of Hjärtholmens . The island extends in north-south direction about 900 meters, in east-west direction it is about 200 meters.

Hjärtholmen is used industrially and serves as an oil terminal . An oil pipeline crosses the island from northeast to southwest . In addition, there are five wind turbines on the island with a total output of two megawatts .

The ferry routes Göteborg– Kiel and Göteborg– Frederikshavn pass south of Hjärtholmen .
