Hjalmar Fredrik Bergman ( pronunciation : [ ˌ ʝalːmaɹ ˈbæɹːʝman ], born September 19, 1883 in Örebro , † January 1, 1931 in Berlin ) was a Swedish writer.

With his hometown as a model, he described the small town in novels such as Markurells i Wadköping (German Markurell ) and Farmor och vår Herre (German grandmother and the love of God ). The novel Clownen Jac (dt. Jac, the clown ) is a psychological autobiography.
