The elevated viaduct in Gorzów Wielkopolski is a viaduct on the Tczew – Küstrin-Kietz border line (former Prussian Eastern Railway ) in Gorzów Wielkopolski (Landsberg an der Warthe) in the Polish Lubusz voivodeship . The viaduct along the Warta is the longest technical monument in Poland .

history

Between 1856 and 1859 the single-track railway line of the Prussian Eastern Railway was completed in Landsberg , which connected to the Berlin-Königsberg connection. In the period from 1905 to 1914, a double-track line was built, which was led within the city via a 1,300-meter-long railway viaduct.

In mid-2018, the entire route between the Gorzów Wielkopolski and Gorzów Wielkopolski Wschodni stations, as well as the associated Gorzów Wielkopolski station section, was closed due to complete repairs.

Technical specifications

The building consists of around 70 barrel vaults resting on reinforced concrete pillars. These are plastered on the outside or clad with bricks. The architectural decoration includes console cornices and the rustication of some pillars. The entire length of the railway viaduct is provided with a metal railing that takes up classical motifs in its ornamentation.
