High frequency pipes are sound generator , according to the principle of the flue pipe or flue a tone high frequency produce.

The sound can still be heard well by the human ear , but is usually not perceived as very loud. In contrast, many animals hear better than humans in higher frequency ranges and thus they perceive the sound of the high-frequency whistle much more intensely and over greater distances.

The high frequency whistle is very popular in animal training because of these properties, as the environment is only slightly disturbed.

The high-frequency whistle is misleadingly referred to as the "silent dog whistle ", whereby the sound is quite audible for humans and the whistle is not only used for dogs. In order to generate a signal inaudible to humans, a Galton whistle with sound generation in the ultrasonic range would be required. Many animals can hear very well in the ultrasound range. B.
