Hochkreuz

The Hochkreuz Görresstraße / Hardter road is in the district Rheindahlen in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ).

The Hochkreuz was in 17./18. Century built. It was entered under No. G 047 on October 10, 1995 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

location

The high cross, presumably built as a hail cross, stands at the redesigned confluence of Görresstrasse and Hardter Strasse.

architecture

It is a high shaft cross on a very narrow and high stone pillar made of bluestone . A roughly square base plate carries the cubic base, which leads over a carnation with a clearly pronounced bulge into the shaft with a simple cornice at the top. The baroque shaft cross with the corpus and INRI panel carved out in high relief as well as rounded cross arms comes from an older previous cross.
