College of Design
As College of Design ( HfG call) or some design or be designated art schools in Germany.
history
The Bauhaus was the first institution to call itself the Bauhaus University of Design . After it was closed by the National Socialists, the Ulm School of Design later took over this name, which was intended to establish a reference to the democratic avant-garde of modern times in Germany in the 1950s .
After its closure in 1968, the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach am Main and the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd took over the term Hochschule für Gestaltung as well as a large part of the teaching concept of the previous institution in 1970 and 1971 . Part of today's Bremen University of the Arts also carried the term University of Design from 1970 to 1988.
Since the 1990s, for example, other art colleges have referred to themselves as HfG.
