Zhong Hui
Zhong Hui ( Chinese 鍾 會 / 钟 会 , Pinyin Zhōng Huì , W.-G. Chung Hui , * 225 ; † 264 ) was a general of the Wei Dynasty at the time of the Three Kingdoms in ancient China . He was also an important philosopher of so-called Neo-Daoism ( 玄學 / 玄学 , xuánxué ) and, as Zhong Yao's son, an important calligrapher .
As a scholar, he was an excellent expert on the I Ching and Daodejing .
He led the campaign to conquer Shu Han in 263 with Deng Ai . Although he and Deng Ai held the same rank, he considered himself more capable than Deng Ai. Therefore, after Shu's fall, he plotted against Deng Ai with former Shu Commander in Chief Jiang Wei , but the conspiracy broke and he was executed .
