University radio in Finland
At the larger universities in Finland , students run university training radios under the guidance of teachers. These are mostly linked to journalism courses. As a rule, the campus radios broadcast their programs via a live stream . A few have their own FM broadcast frequency. In addition to the campus radios that broadcast daily to weekly, there are also so-called Vappuradios in Finland, which only broadcast programs to Vappu . The university radio stations are not in competition with the private broadcasters or state radio broadcasters.
There is currently no umbrella organization for the Finnish campus radios. At the Student Radio Meetup conference in September 2018, a number of Finnish campus radios met in Turku and spoke out in favor of an overarching student radio organization.
