A wedding forest in Tauberbischofsheim

A wedding forest is a common opportunity in many cities and towns for newlyweds to plant a tree in a certain area. For this purpose, the municipal administration usually reserves a special area. The municipality often helps with the order of the tree and the professional implementation of the planting. Some municipalities refer to historical origins. For example, the community of Schweindorf in the Wittmund district refers to a decree from Prince Christian Eberhard of East Friesland from 1697, according to which all newly wed couples in Harlingerland had to plant an oak. In memory of this decree, the Holtriem community is giving an oak tree to all married couples who got married at the registry office in Westerholt. This can either be planted in your own garden or in the wedding forest.
