Hockey Series 2018/19 (women)

The 2018/19 Women's Hockey Series is the first edition of the Hockey Series . It began in June 2018 and is expected to end in mid-2019. Up to six national teams reach the FIH Olympic qualifying games via this competition.

In the first round of the Hockey Series, the Hockey Series Open, six tournaments are played. The format of the individual tournaments differs depending on the number of participants and other circumstances. From these tournaments a total of 15 nations qualify for the second round, the Hockey Series Finals.

In the Hockey Series Finals, three tournaments with eight teams each are played. These consist of 15 qualifiers from the Hockey Series Open and nine nations who have already qualified via the world rankings. The format includes two groups of four teams each with a simple group phase. Then the first play against the fourth and the second against the third from the other group. The placements will be decided in the semifinals and finals. The first and second of each tournament will take part in the FIH Olympic Qualifiers, unless they are already otherwise qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

All members of the World Hockey Federation (FIH) who do not already participate in the Hockey Pro League can participate. The following 38 nations take part:
