features

The representatives of the genus are small butterflies with lanceolate, pointed forewings. They have dark brown forewings, which are marked with three, partially incomplete white bands. The hind wings are also lanceolate and have a pointed apex .

In the males, the tegumen is well developed. It is short and wide and has a U-shaped bulge at the rear edge. The brachia are of different lengths. The right brachium is about one and a half or twice as long as the left. The blades are lobed, the cucullus has long, coarse bristles. The right valvella is exposed and is partially fused with the aedeagus . The aedeagus is bottle-shaped and has a sharp point.

In the females, the apophyses posteriores are very long and about three times longer than the apophyses anteriores. The sterigma is elongated and heavily sclerotized . The ductus bursae is membranous and very narrow. It is about as long as the corpus bursae . The corpus bursae is oval and has a large elongated lobe at the back that ends in the seminal duct. There are two signs that are either small and thorny or funnel-shaped.

biology

The caterpillars live as leaf miners on wind plants (Convolvulaceae).
