Hof Birkenfeld is a small settlement that within the boundaries of the Königheimer hamlet Pülfringen in Main-Tauber-Kreis is located.

geography

Hof Birkenfeld is located about seven kilometers southwest of Königheim. The surrounding towns are Pülfringen after about two kilometers to the west, Brehmen after about two kilometers to the south and Gissigheim after about three kilometers to the northeast.

history

In 1358 Hof Birkenfeld was first mentioned in a document as Birkenfelt ; In the traditions of a "nobleman Gerlach von Birkenfeld" is spoken. In 1444 there was another documentary mention as Birkenfelt . According to Amorbach records, the small settlement had been in the possession of the Amorbach monastery since 1197 . The place was always under the same rule as Pülfringen. After the First World War , a court chapel was built. On December 31, 1973, the municipality of Pülfringen, to which Hof Birkenfeld belonged, was incorporated into Königheim.

The court chapel is located at the living space . The chapel was built for two of the village's fallen sons who had not returned from the First World War . A wayside shrine with a depiction of the 14 emergency helpers dates from 1855.
