Hof Esselbrunn is a small settlement that lies on the boundary of the Königheim district of Gissigheim in the Main-Tauber district .

geography

Esselbrunn farm is located about three kilometers south of Gissigheim, about three kilometers east of Brehmen , about five kilometers southeast of Pülfringen , about six kilometers south of Königheim, about five kilometers northwest of Heckfeld and about five kilometers southwest of Dittwar .

middle Ages

In 1251 Hof Esselbrunn was first mentioned as Eschelbrunnen and in 1257 as Esselbrunnen . It was a single courtyard from the High Middle Ages. It is possible that the court was in the hands of fiefs of the Lords of Düren when it was first named. In the year 1257 the place came to the diocese of Würzburg in real estate from the nobles of Krautheim. Since the late Middle Ages, Esselbrunn farm has been owned by the Gissigheim local authorities.

Modern times

Until 1824 the farm belonged to the nobility of Tauberbischofsheim. Every year 70 Malter Dinkel, 45 Malter Haber and 10 Malter Korn were required. The buyer Josef Valentin Künzig paid 800 guilders for the deed of ownership.

On January 1, 1972, the community of Gissigheim, to which Hof Esselbrunn belonged, was incorporated into Königheim.
