The court Johannliemke is a landmarked farmstead in Verl , a town in Gütersloh ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ). The large courtyard, built in a uniform half-timbered construction, has been entered in the municipal monument list as architectural monument number 4 since 1984 .

History and architecture

The farm was mentioned in a document in 1153. The courtyard complex, which consists of several buildings and is surrounded by oaks, is surrounded by a moat that is fed by the Wapelbach, which passes south of the complex . The main house is a mighty four-column construction with a gable roof . According to an inscription, it was rebuilt over old foundations in 1822 after a fire. The commercial gable protrudes twice. The hall door is richly decorated, the floor is transparent, the chamber compartment is wider on one side. Somewhat apart from the main house is the Backspeicher, a small half-timbered building built in 1509 with muddy brick compartments on a high natural stone base under a gable roof. It has a very large stand cross-section, as well as with profiled lugs cantilevered and verbretterten pediments.

The sheepfold from 1595 is a four-column house with two large gates each on the gable ends. The gable triangles protrude on beam heads, the gable frame is decorated with braided ribbon carving. The outbuilding was added later. A pigsty is also part of the facility, which is an elongated half-timbered building that also has a natural stone base under a gable roof. In this building, too, there are gable triangles on slightly protruding lugs. A chicken coop as a silted brick framework and an elongated barn building complete the facility. Some of the barns and stables are 20th century buildings. The processional chapel on the access avenue was built in 1881 from plastered brick . The neo-Gothic building replaces a previous half-timbered chapel.
