The Hofele-Design GmbH (proper spelling HOFELE) is a German producer of modified versions luxury vehicle based on the Mercedes-Benz models. Hofele-Design has been recognized as a vehicle manufacturer by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and has been awarded a Worldwide Manufacturers Identification Code by SAE International .
history
In 1983, Martin Hofele opened the Hofele-Design company in his father's double garage. Michael Hofele worked as a management consultant for various German automotive groups in the field of marketing until 1987 and joined the company that year. Of one of the designs, the special Goldi model for Mazda Germany, over 2000 cars were built and sold. In 2000 Hofele-Design GmbH moved into a new factory building in Donzdorf with larger production areas. From 2006 Hofele-Design was represented as a brand with its own partners in China. Since 2018 Hofele-Design has been the official contractual partner of Daimler AG in the field of converted vehicles under the Hofele brand, based on models from Mercedes-Benz.

Hofele-Design offers a range of design accessories that customers can use to customize their vehicles. This applies to the outside and inside. Under the Hofele AUTO division , the company offers new complete vehicles that are based on the Mercedes-Benz series, but are being converted as a new Hofele model variant.
International awards
Hofele-Design is recognized by SAE International as a vehicle manufacturer and has received a Worldwide Manufacturers Identification Code from the Federal Motor Transport Authority.
The Sport-Auto-Magazin presented Hofele-Design with a Sport-Auto-Award in 2010 for the design of the "SR8 Concept", based on the Audi A8 .
