Hofenacker is a small hamlet in the municipality of Ramsen in the eastern part of the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland .
geography
Hofenacker is one of the four hamlets that belong to the municipality of Ramsen. It has 22 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2012) and is north of the village, right on the German border.
history
Hofenacker shows a considerable age. It was first mentioned in 1293 as Offenacker, which over time developed into Hofenacker. Until 1800 there was also a brick factory in Hofenacker , which extracted its clay , which is very important for production, in the nearby forest. The vineyard also dates from the ancient times of Hofenacker, but it was lost over time. Today it was partially replanted and so the only Ramser wine matures in Hofenacker. The grape varieties are Blauburgunder and Riesling x Silvaner .
Spiesshof
The Spiesshof is located a few hundred meters north of Hofenacker. The former restaurant, whose parking lot was in Germany, is now part of Pastor Ernst Sieber's foundation . People are admitted who have problems with drugs or other addictive substances.
