Hoffman Peak is a 1550 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range, it rises north-northeast of Mount McLennan .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 1998 after Jack Edward Hoffman (1923-1996), who was in charge of New Zealand's drilling project in the Antarctic Dry Valleys from 1973 to 1976 and was involved in the construction of the new Scott Base .
