The Schlossgut Petry in low back , in the municipality of Körperich in Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate , was in 1823 after the model of the nearby Schloss Weilerbach built as a new building on medieval castle remains.

Medieval remains
From the medieval castle complex, a five-storey residential tower with a square floor plan has been preserved in the southwest wing. Another indication of a construction period in the 14th or 15th century are the wide window frames. All other openings are from the 19th / 20th centuries. Century.
Components from the eighteenth century
The chapel (today's branch church St. Dionysius ) was built together with the steep hipped roof in 1734 on the residential tower. The main facade follows the type of small country castles of the 18th century.
Components from the nineteenth century
The house was built in 1823 and forms the middle part of an open, not quite regular three-wing complex, all other parts in their current appearance date from the 19th century.
On the opposite side of the residential tower, farm buildings were added in the 19th century. The central axis marked by the entrance to the house clearly recedes behind the two side projections. The facade is structured by axially arranged, suspected segmental arched windows with smooth edge pilasters and differently profiled bench cornices. In front of the middle section of the facade is a terrace with a two-armed, free-running staircase, which, like the wrought iron grille and the glass roof resting on iron supports, probably dates from around 1900.
Above the high basement there are two full floors and an additional mezzanine floor used as a bulk floor . Inside, the original room layout and the solid furnishings - all doors, both stairs, room-wide closet, several stucco ceilings - were almost completely preserved. In the front right room on the ground floor, there is a room-enclosing wallpaper from the Parisian manufacture Dufour that was attached at the time of construction. The wallpaper shows scenes from Paul et Virginie (a fashion novel by Bernadin de Sankt Pierre first published in 1787) in a tropical landscape. A painting by Jean Broc (a student of Jacques David's ) must have served as the model. Also in the room is a cast-iron stove with neo-Gothic decor and a set of Biedermeier furniture. The overraports are adorned with mythological representations. The northeast wing was built in 1860/70 and served agricultural purposes. After several changes, only the diaphragmatic elevated central axis remained , the decoration of which forms the six door openings arranged next to one another. The doors are combined with an elaborate architectural framing with a flower tile made of clay tiles. In front of all the wings are broad strips of plaster that leave out the middle of the courtyard.
Twentieth century additions
The ground floor of the residential tower has served as the anteroom of the church with a new entrance since 1968.
history
Until the Bouvier Castle was sold in 1810, the castle estate formed a lordly ensemble of buildings with this and two other estates.
In 1913 the Petry family bought the castle estate and have been running it to this day.
