The Hoh River is a river on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state .

It is named after the tribe of the Hoh .

The origin of the 90 km long river is the Hoh Glacier , a glacier on the east side of Mount Olympus in Olympic National Park . The Hoh River is fed by numerous source streams. The Hoh River flows westwards, from the north the Hoh Creek flows from the Hoh Lake south of the Bogachiel Peak , from the south the Glacier Creek from the Blue Glacier of Mount Olympus flows into it. The Hoh River continues to flow through a wide valley in a wide gravel bed through the Hoh Rainforest . From the left, Mount Tom Creek, coming from the White Glacier of Mount Olympus, flows into it; at the national park border, the South Fork Hoh River, which rises on the southern slopes of Mount Olympus, flows into it. From the border of the national park the river flows further west and finally south-west. About 16 kilometers from its mouth, it flows through a small, approximately three-kilometer-long canyon made of almost vertical rock walls until it flows again through its wide river valley and flows north of the Hoh Indian Reservation in the Pacific. The Hoh River Trail , a wilderness trail , runs along the river through Olympic National Park.
