Hohensalach is a desert in the Ostalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg .

Salach usually refers to a place overgrown with Sal willows .
location
The location of the place cannot be proven with certainty. The online portal LEO-BW names the district Waldhausen as a location, but it is more likely that the place was in the area of the Salach corridor in the Elchingen district . This corridor is only about 300 meters from the Waldhäuser district boundary, not far from Beuren . In the area of the corridor Salach the field names exist behind the Salach , Salach field and (in the register map of 1830) Salach forest .
history
In 1391, Raban Holzmann, a citizen of Bopfingen, sold a farm in Beuren with a small estate called Salach to a Waldhäuser pastor. Hohensalach is mentioned in 1470, when the Neresheim monastery exchanged, among other things, the tithes of the place for the German Order of Kapfenburg .
