Architecture and history

The buildings in the Hoken go back to the originally existing stalls of shopkeepers who sold their goods there. The booths of the 14th century gradually became solid and larger houses. The half-timbered house Hoken 1 was built in the second half of the 16th century and is listed as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register. In the literature, the house is listed as an object on which the decorative shape of the fan rosette was used relatively late . On the ground floor, on the side facing the market, a shop was set up that is now a restaurant.
