The AE Holargos ( Greek Αθλητική Ένωση Χολαργού Athlitiki Enosi Cholargoú , German 'Sports Association Holargos' ), formerly known as Holargos KO , in English-speaking countries also known as Holargos BC , is a Greek basketball club that is based in Cholargos .

history

The Holargos KO club, founded in 1982 as a division of the OF Holargos football club, founded in 1948 , began playing in the lowest divisions of Attica before emancipating itself in 1989 through the separation from the parent club in order to be able to operate as an independent club from now on. A year later the club moved to its new venue, Klisto Antonis Tritsis.

For the 2012/13 season, the club achieved its first promotion to the Beta Ethniki, the third highest division. The club finished their debut season with 14 wins and 12 losses in sixth place. After three more seasons in the third division, Holargos KO merged with the second division club AE Livadia in the summer of 2016 and so the club played in the 2016/17 season, under their new name AE Holargos , in the A2 Ethniki , the second highest division they have could finish in sixth place.

In the 2017/18 season, the association took second place behind the GS Peristeri and so the AE Holargos played first-class in the 2018/19 season . The club ended its debut season under the leadership of Aris Lykogiannis in eighth place in the main round and was defeated in the following playoffs to AEK Athens in the first round with 1: 2 games. A few weeks later, the club's management announced that due to financial difficulties, the club would merge with the Colossus Rhodes . By losing their professional status, the club was relegated to the Beta Ethniki (amateur area).
