Location of Neukirnberg in Bavaria

Neukirnberg is a district of the small Upper Bavarian town of Penzberg in the Weilheim-Schongau district . The hamlet is located about two kilometers north-northwest of the Penzberg town center between the districts of Kirnberg and Nonnenwald .

Neukirnberg emerged from 1802 - like Maxkron - at the request of the first Bavarian King Max I. Joseph as a settlement of so-called "land drivers" in the Kirnberger Filz . The name was taken from the nearby Kirnberger Hof.

Until 1935 Neukirnberg belonged to the Roman Catholic parish of Iffeldorf and since then to the parish of Penzberg.
