Hollenlauf
The Hollenlauf is a running event in the town of Schmallenberg in the Bödefeld district . There were routes of 13 km, 21 km, 42 km, 67 km and 101 km and since 2016 routes of 14 to 111 km. The 15th Bödefelder Hollenlauf was held on May 24th and 25th, 2019.
The routes
The runs in the Sauerland predominantly take place on forest paths and nature trails and can therefore be regarded as trail runs . The routes are designed as a turning point route so that all runners meet once as they walk past. In addition, the participants can opt for a longer or shorter route at the turning points reached first.
All of the advertised routes have a very challenging elevation profile of up to 2200 hm on the 101 km for German low mountain ranges . That is one of the reasons why the Hollenlauf 2012 was part of the German Championship of the DUV in the Ultratrail.
history
The Hollenlauf has been held annually since 2006. In 2013 there were more than 1000 registrations for the first time. In 2014, 1251 athletes took part. The hell march
The Hollenmarsch has existed since 2004, initially focusing on the 101 km route. It is one of the few distance marches or ultra-walking events over 100 and more kilometers in Germany. Since its inception, the Hollenmarsch has been extended to include shorter marches and the described running routes of the Hollenlauf. In 2015 only the Hollenmarsch took place without the Hollenlauf.
