Hollern is a district of the municipality of Eching in the Freising district in Upper Bavaria . The hamlet is about three kilometers northwest of the main town of Eching.
history
A hamlet "Alarun", later "Holaren" and "Holan" is mentioned under the Freising Bishop Ellenhard (1052-1078) in Meichelbeck's collection of documents. The two officially documented farms belonged to Weihenstephan Monastery for centuries and only came into secular possession in the 17th century.
In gratitude for a happy salvation in the War of the Spanish Succession , the citizens of Hollern built a small chapel at the beginning of the 18th century, in which two plaques still commemorate the events.
Hollern belonged to the Garching team and came to the Eching community when the community was formed at the beginning of the 19th century.
