Holmes Ridge is a rocky ridge between 200 and 1250 m high on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It rises on the southeastern edge of the Gotley Glacier .
It is named after Ian Holmes, who suffered a leg fracture below the knee on February 10, 1971 on the way to Atlas Cove when he fell into a crevasse of the Gotley Glacier.
