The huts of the Holyhead Mountain Group ( English Holyhead Mountain Hut Group or the Irishmen's Huts - called Cytiau'r Gwyddelod in Welsh ) is located in Trearddur, west of Holyhead , on Holy Island , the island of Anglesey in Wales .

The group of huts is on a terrace in the southwest of the mountain, near the South Stack cliffs. It is unclear how old the settlement is. The classifications range from the Neolithic to the Dark Centuries . Many of the structures are likely from the Iron Age . The site was excavated in the 1860s when at least 50 buildings were recorded. Many huts were restored at the beginning of the 20th century. Parts of the site were excavated between 1978 and 1982. Today the stone bases of 20 buildings are visible.

The low stone walls are said to have supported the roof of a cone formed from stakes. The larger buildings have wooden posts inside that supported the tops of the roof posts. The structure was covered with thatch or turf (similar reconstructed round houses can be found at Flag Fen ). Not all buildings were round, some were oval with internal partitions, others had long corridors, and others looked like small warehouses or workshops. Alcoves or stoves and a stone sink were found in some buildings. The buildings, which are interpreted as houses, have a diameter of 6.0 to 10.0 meters.

The findings include arrowheads flint , a part of an ax and remnants of the late neolithikum or early Bronze time as well as a small pile roman coins.
