The Home Beach ( English for home beach ) is an approximately 180 m long beach on the west coast of the Antarctic Ross Island . It is located just north of Cape Evans on the shores of North Bay .
Participants in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott named it because it is in close proximity to their base camp, which still exists today.
