The CB 650 Four is a mid-range motorcycle from the Japanese company Honda . It was the successor to the Honda CB 550 Four .

Changes compared to the predecessor CB 550 Four

The machine was largely based on the CB 550 Four. For example, the framework and instruments were adopted unchanged. The engine was also taken over, but the displacement increased to 627 cm³. Thus, he made 47 kW (63 HP) at 9,000 min -1 . The performance of the CB 650 Four was on par with the 750 class, but with a weight advantage due to the lighter frame. In Germany, models with an output limited to 50 HP (37 kW) were often offered due to the insurance class.

Facelift

The typical 4-in-1 exhaust system existed until 1980, followed by a 4-in-2 system. In 1981 the cylinder head and the carburetor were revised. From 1982 a new drop tank as well as other side covers and air filter boxes were used. Another modification was a double disc brake at the front.

variants

From 1981 to 1982 the Honda CB 650 SC model (product code 460) was also offered as a soft chopper with 63 HP (46 kW) . Another variant was the Honda CB 650 C - also a soft chopper.
