Honors elite courses at the University of Regensburg

The Honors elite courses have been a special funding program that has existed since 2004 for particularly talented and motivated students from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Regensburg in the subjects of business administration , (international) economics and business informatics . The courses are part of the Bavarian Elite Network .

Teaching

The aim of the courses is to provide students with scientifically sound and application-oriented knowledge at an early stage for the tasks of executives in business and administration and to introduce them to top international research. To this end, the program offers soft skills / method courses, workshops, specialist lectures, excursions to companies and academies.

Bachelor

The Honors Bachelor program offers Bachelor students the opportunity to become part of the Honors program after completing the first study phase from the 4th semester. In addition to the regular bachelor's degree, the students complete an honors module with 20 ECTS consisting of an honors seminar, an honors project, a compulsory internship, excursions, specialist lectures and workshops and, upon successful completion, obtain the academic degree "Bachelor of Science" with a proven Honors module, which also enables admission to the master’s degree programs.

master

The faculty offers an extensive range of elite master's programs . In addition to the content of the regular master’s degree programs, students also complete an honors module with 24 ECTS. In addition to academies and seminars on selected scientific topics, this includes soft skills and method courses, a semester abroad, social projects and excursions to promote exchange with scientific institutions and companies. The students are also looked after individually by professors and business executives as part of a mentoring program . Upon successful completion of an Honors Master’s course, students acquire the academic degree "Master of Science with Honors".

Application process and admission

The application for the Honors program in the Bachelor's degree takes place in the third semester. You will be accepted in the following semester. Applications for the Honors Master’s degree programs are possible twice a year by June 1st for the winter semester and by December 1st for the summer semester at the latest. The selection process for the Honors program takes place in two stages. After examining the written application documents (curriculum vitae, letter of motivation, certificates), the decision on admission will be made after a selection interview with the Honors Committee.

Cooperations

The partner network of the Honors elite courses includes renowned companies such as McKinsey , BMW and KPMG . The companies support Honors u. a. with the allocation of internships , the organization of specialist lectures and excursions or the provision of financial resources. In return, the cooperation partners have the opportunity to recruit potential managers. Places are also available at foreign universities, such as the Prague University of Economics , the Beijing Technical University or the University of Colorado Boulder .
