The Hoppensee is a lake near Gehren in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The approximately 0.7 hectare body of water is located in the municipality of Strasburg (Uckermark) , one kilometer northeast of the center of Gehren. The lake has no natural tributaries. However, water flows off to Lake Galenbeck through a widespread northern rift system . The maximum size of the Hoppensee is about 130 by 70 meters.
