Horacio Gallardo Burgos (born May 29, 1981 in San Bernardo de la Frontera de Tarixa ) is a Bolivian cyclist .
Athletic career
In 2005 Horacio Gallardo became Bolivian road racing champion for the first time . Also in 2005 and 2006 he made it onto the podium several times on sections of the Doble Copacabana Grand Prix Fides and the Doble Sucre Potosí GP . In the 2007 season he won a stage at the Doble Sucre Potosí GP and he was Bolivian road champion for the second time.
At the 2008 Olympic road bike race , Gallardo caused a sensation when he and Chilean Patricio Almonacid drove 120 kilometers in front of the field, sometimes with a lead of over 15 minutes. Still, it wasn't a problem for the favorites to catch up with the duo again in the middle of the race; Gallardo, on the other hand, was unable to finish the race.
By 2016, Gallardo was four times Bolivian road racing champion .
