History and technical information
After Heinz W. Hehnke took over the individual production of the Münch motorcycles, the former owner Friedel Münch in Nidderau acquired the trademark rights of the motorcycle manufacturer Horex .
The Horex 1400 TI has a transversely installed NSU engine with manifold injection and exhaust gas turbocharger , which achieves an output of 103 kW / 140 PS (since 1981 74 kW / 100 PS) at a boost pressure of 0.55 bar and the motorcycle according to factory specifications allows a top speed of 250 km / h. As with the previous Münch motorcycles, it is the enlarged four-cylinder in-line engine of the NSU TT . The rear wheel is driven by a chain. The ignition is electronic contactless. The motorcycle has a double disc brake at the front and a disc brake at the rear. The wheelbase is 1520 mm. The Horex 1400 TI weighs 296 kg ready to drive, the fuel tank holds 36 liters. In 1978 the new price of the motorcycle was 35,000 Deutschmarks .
