Horst-Achim Kern

Horst-Achim Kern (born August 20, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Kern graduated from high school in 1963 and then studied at the Free University of Berlin . In 1970 he graduated with a degree in administrative management (FH). He worked in the Schöneberg district office and, from 1975, at the Berlin Senate . From 1982 to 1989, Kern was initially managing director and later chairman of the board of the Social Pedagogical Institute Berlin (SPI), an institution of the Berlin workers' welfare organization.

In 1963, Kern joined the SPD. In the Berlin election in 1981 he was initially not elected, but since Günter Gaus left after a month, Kern was able to move up to the Berlin House of Representatives . In March 1989 he became Parliamentary Secretary until he left Parliament in 1995.
