history

A church was mentioned in a document in 868. The core of the late Romanesque church was expanded as a Gothic staggered church. The nave is from 1382. The choir was consecrated in 1410.

architecture

The three-aisled, three-bay nave is vaulted with star ribs in the central nave, the ribs were reconstructed in 1920. The south nave is vaulted with ribs. The two-bay choir with a five-eighth end is wider than the central nave and has a ribbed vault. The west tower was converted into an octagon and has an onion helmet. The tower hall is open on two sides and has a ribbed vault. The late Gothic south and north portals are walled up.

Late Gothic wall paintings of Mary in a halo, saints, tendril ornaments on the nave pillars and the painting on the ribs in the choir from the end of the 15th century were uncovered and restored in 1953.

Furnishing

The high altar is from 1729 and shows the altarpiece Baptism of King Clodwig by Remigius from the construction time, the signature of the painter Josef Binninger (1827) probably a restoration. The left side altar St. Maria was created around 1630 and has the statues Barbara and Elisabeth - probably Gothic - heavily carved. The right side altar St. Leonhard around 1660/1670 carries the statue of a bishop Gothic and carved. The pulpit is from 1630. A statue of St. George around 1510 became a St. Florian in the 17th century. The Stations of the Cross are from 1753. The baptismal font is late Gothic. The figure of St. Kunigunde from the third quarter of the 15th century was restored in 1956/1957. The sacristy door has Gothic fittings.

The single manual organ with seven registers was built in 1896 by Albert Mauracher from Salzburg-Mülln . There is a bell from 1609.
