Horst Faber (politician)

Horst Faber (born April 29, 1941 in Berlin ) is a German CDU politician .

After attending secondary school, Faber completed his training as a wholesaler, which he successfully completed in 1960. He worked as a clerk until 1963, after which he became self-employed as a retail salesman and took over the management of two companies.

In 1989 he was elected regional chairman of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU, and from 1995 he was also deputy national chairman of MIT. In addition, he was chairman of the regional association of wholesalers and retailers Berlin-Brandenburg, vice-president of the federal association of German food retailers and a member of the general assembly and the trade committee of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Faber began his political engagement in 1974 when he joined the CDU. From 1996 to 1998 he was deputy chairman of the Berlin regional association, after which he moved to the regional executive committee. From 1979 to 1981 he was a member of the Reinickendorf District Assembly . In 1990 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives for the first time , to which he was a member until 1995. In 1998 he replaced the late Helga Delau , and in 2001 he left the House of Representatives for good . In parliament he represented the Wedding district . At the moment he is a member of the district executive committee of the CDU Reinickendorf.
